About the Award

This award honors and celebrates individuals and organizations from around the world who, over the past year, have made meaningful and measurable contributions to advancing GInI’s mission through exceptional advocacy and regional influence, as well as demonstrating a commitment to promoting innovation worldwide.

The GDI Ambassador Award is open to any individual or organization—regardless of background or affiliation—who has actively advocated for GInI and helped advance its mission within their region. Nominations are accepted from others or through self-nomination. Each year, multiple recipients may be selected from among all qualified applicants worldwide, based on the quality and significance of their contributions.

  1. The party must have maintained direct affiliation with GInI in some manner over the entire preceding year.
  2. The party must have undertaken a sizeable advocacy and promotional effort on behalf of GInI and its mission.
  3. The party must have – over the preceding year, and through its advocacy and promotional effort on behalf of GInI – had a significantly positive impact in the world by significantly advancing the cause of Innovation in its region inside both public and private sector organizations.
Each of the above must be attested by the applicant.
  1. Name of the individual or organization nominated.
  2. Nominee’s contact information.
  3. For individual nominees: name, location, and region of their organization.
  4. For individual nominees: nature of their organization.
  5. For Organizational Nominees: names and roles of key contributors.
  6. For Organizational Nominees: nature of the organization.
  7. A detailed explanation of the advocacy and promotional efforts undertaken by the nominee over the past year to generate a significantly positive impact in their region on behalf of GInI and its mission.
  8. A thorough explanation of the measurable positive impacts resulting from the nominee’s advocacy and promotional efforts over the past year in their region and/or beyond.
  9. A clear explanation of the key lessons the nominee has learned throughout this process that could be shared with other GInI Ambassadors (if known).
  10. Relevant attachments and supporting documents.
  11. Applicant’s contact information.
  12. A high-resolution version of the organization’s logo (SVG or PNG).
  13. Shipping details.
  14. Applicant’s affirmation of the accuracy of the information provided herein.
  1. The extent to which this party maintained direct affiliation with GInI in some manner over the entirety of the preceding year.
  2. The extent to which this party undertook a sizeable advocacy and promotional effort on behalf of GInI and its mission.
  3. The extent to which this party had a significantly positive impact on the world over the past year, by significantly advancing the cause of Innovation in their sphere of influence (in both public and private sector organizations) via their advocacy and promotional efforts on behalf of GInI.
  4. The extent to which this party helped to facilitate some grander overall - positive - societal transformation (a bigger purpose in the world).
