Overview
GInI | Global Innovation Institute is the world’s leading professional certification, business accreditation and membership association in the field of innovation. The Regional Director (RD) for the MEA Region is a senior leadership position providing significant strategic direction to, and leadership over, GInI‘s operations in the MEA market. The Regional Director (RD) works closely with GInI’s leadership to set the direction for, and lead the operations and staff of this region, while developing strong relationships with GInI’s Authorized Providers and other partners in the region. This individual will work closely with GInI to build and sustain a cohesive regional operations and management team, ensuring GInI’s MEA portfolio is responsive to meeting the needs of this market.
Essential Job Responsibilities – What You Will Be Doing In This Role
Strategy & Planning
- Function as a key partner to GInI HQ by: a) building out and growing an effective Regional Team delivering high performance in this region; and b) managing overall execution in the region.
- Together with GInI’s MEA Regional Team, develop, evolve, and articulate an ambitious and compelling regional strategy for the overall MEA market that integrates with GInI’s global strategy.
- Likewise, develop compelling country-level strategies that each integrate with the broader regional and global strategy.
Team Management
- Manage the overall activities of GInI’s MEA Regional Team in the conduct of its current and new operations.
- Oversee the MEA Regional Team in delivering support to GInI’s partners and Providers in the region.
- Communicate expectations, promote accountability, and deliver constructive feedback, both formally and informally, through regular one-on-one discussions and performance reviews.
- Ensure sound performance management and staff access to high caliber learning & development opportunities.
- Ensure that all team members possess a complete understanding of their role, and are connected to the relevant stakeholders inside the Institute so as to convey and promote the Institute’s programs and strategies throughout the region.
- Encourage a climate of open discourse, idea generation, and honest communication – producing a trusting and inclusive Regional Team.
- Manage any additional technical resources as needed at the regional level.
Development & Growth
- Identify, explore, and pursue new opportunities that support the Institute’s strategic objectives for the region.
- Oversee and support the development of current accounts, as well as the generation of new leads.
- Position GInI for new strategic opportunities that build on global and/or regional priorities.
- Ensure dynamic engagement mechanisms across the region – to ensure that every new opportunity is utilized.
Influence & Representation
- Develop and nurture strong external relationships and networks throughout the MEA region.
- Engage with prospective partners to shape and influence their strategies and priorities.
- Identify and pursue new areas for thought leadership, including building connections with innovation leaders, government officials, private sector partners, relevant companies, and professionals.
- Serve as a respected representative of GInI in the MEA region, promoting the Institute’s offerings, capabilities, expertise, innovation, strategic vision, and values.
- Fill in as needed from time to time for the Institute’s other leaders during vacations, leaves, and/or business travels.
Innovation & Quality Accountability
- Ensure that the appropriate systems are in place to achieve the highest possible impact in the region, and that these are in line with GInI’s overall regional and global strategies.
- Ensure that the appropriate systems are in place to enforce partners’ adherence to GInI’s policies, practices, and standards.
- Work closely with GInI’s global support partners to ensure the ongoing quality of their service delivery, and that joint teams are working towards fully achieving their mutually defined goals.
- Support all countries in the region in adopting and adhering to GInI’s accountability and quality practices – including those for the professional certification of individuals and the proper accreditation of businesses and their innovation assets.
Reporting Structure – Who You Will Be Accountable To In This Role
- This role reports directly to GInI’s Executive Director in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
- This role works directly with the following colleagues at GInI: Executive Director, Operations Directors & Managers, Finance Directors & Managers, other Management Teams as required, inclusive of technical teams and supplemental support teams based at GInI’s HQ in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
- This role is accountable to all of GInI’s partners, teams, customers, and stakeholders. Every GInI team member is expected to support all efforts toward full accountability, specifically to GInI’s partners, staff, customers, community members, and other stakeholders – to all international standards.
Knowledge Experience Requirements – What You Need To Know And Be Capable Of Doing To Succeed In This Role
- BA or BS in Business Administration or other related field. MA or MS degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in international sales, business development , strategic advisory, senior management over teams in multiple countries, and engagement with multiple international partners (internal and external).
- Demonstrated success in sales and team leadership in an internationally recognized American educational institute or center.
- Highly confident in proven communication skills – as applicable to partner relationships, media outreach, and inter-organizational coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex problems at an organizational level.
- Significant experience in strategy development, service design & development, and operational planning.
- Experience coordinating and managing conferences and other similar events.
- Successful and proven facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the critical market and development issues in the MEA region, and significant experience with the challenges of operating in this region.
- Fully fluent in both English and Arabic – both written and spoken.
- Two recommendation letters from two different GInI corporate clients to validate and attest to your capabilities are preferred.
Working Environment – What Your Environment Will Be Like
- This role involves a combination of both standard office environment and working remotely (telecommuting).
- Applicants must have a home or alternative workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled working hours.
- Some travel will be required – as needed – up to 30%, including international travel between the United States and MEA region countries.
- Applicants must possess an active and valid passport that will allow them to travel as required internationally.

You will be accountable for conducting in-depth research, analysis, and reporting to support the GInI Board of Directors (BoD) and Executive Team related to GInI’s strategic planning, with a focus on any medium-term or long-term trends that may affect the medium- and long-term future of GInI, the business innovation industry, and innovation management professions.

What You’ll Bring to The Role
- Bachelors’ degree in business-oriented major. Masters’ degree in market research or business strategy preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in market intelligence environment, with demonstrated experience in driving identification and understanding of key market information to support business planning and decision making. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated success in effectively researching information from a broad variety of sources and identifying relevant trends and conclusions to support business planning for a global organization.
- Strong knowledge of and success with quality research design (both qualitative and quantitative) to meet the needs of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience and success in analyzing market intelligence for business implications, with skill to present business implications of research findings to executive-level audiences.

Key Responsibilities
- You will respond to and resolve consistently high-volume customer-related inquiries and problems from customers and co-workers (i.e., general, and specific questions about the organization, payment inquiries) in a professional, accurate, and timely manner consistent with the Customer Inquiry & Response process.
- You will escalate inquiries as required and maintain ownership as needed, directing individuals to the appropriate source, or coordinating needed information (ex. literature about GInI, membership, programs, accreditations, services, web site).
- You will support marketing and cross-selling of GInI’s products and services through targeted discussions and review of benefits (i.e., membership) with prospective or existing practitioners while responding to inquiries.
- You will analyze customer contacts and questions to identify trends in customer inquiries, including common issues or problems experienced by practitioners, as well as provide recommendations for resolution. Escalate problems to management for resolution and department-level review as appropriate.
- You will participate in outbound calling campaigns as needed, supporting goals for retention and renewal of members, certificates, and other practitioners.

How Will You Make a Difference to GInI?
As a Marketing Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining all marketing platforms and integrations.
You will be using your skills on a daily basis to:
- Technical build out of multiple, simultaneous digital campaigns, end-to-end using HTML/CSS and email marketing automation software.
- Ensure effective delivery of email marketing messages and campaigns, including effective technical execution and implementation of industry best practices.
- Review reports to establish campaign effectiveness and ROI for business-critical email communications.
- Successfully evaluate target audience requirements for each project and perform database queries. Discuss outcomes and considerations with stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Serve as a technical leader for email marketing projects and initiatives driven by or impacting the MarTech Team.
- Collaborate on initiatives that innovate and enhance the user experience, extend capabilities, and drive towards organizational goals.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the organization’s email automation software and support the development of recommendations to improve the company’s campaign management capabilities.
- Directly support and/or lead on marketing automation administration, configuration, migration, campaign execution, and testing activities.
- Implementation of enhanced audience segmentation and personalization in email programs; play a key role in supporting customer contact strategy, testing, governance, standards and best practices.

- BA required in business, marketing or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience and expert level skills in email marketing automation software.
- Minimum 5 years of experience and familiarity with related tools such as CRM, analytics, data warehouses/data management systems, e-commerce platforms.
